Everything that you locate and go on online like games, emails, web pages, and more comes to you from the internet. The internet is vital to everyday lives in modern time, more than 2 billion people are regular Internet users as of 2011. The internet has grown so much that it's extremely hard to live and complete certain tasks without it nowadays, back in the 90's only a few people had ever used it. Now it's one of the most important and most used things in the world.
A protocol is a rule for how computers in a network communicate with each other. they control or enable the connection, communication, and data transfer between two computing endpoints. There are multiple protocol organizations that do different tasks. In 1973 file transfers via File Transfer Protocol (FTP) began. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) uses a set of rules to exchange messages with other Internet points at the information packet level. Internet Protocol (IP) uses a set of rules to send and receive messages at the internet address level.
DNS stands for Domain Name Service, and DNS resolves addresses, without it there would be no Internet Connection. DNS is like a phone book for the Internet, it looks up a host name and returns an IP address, or vice versa. We you type a URL into a web browser, the application has to go to a DNS server to find the IP address associated with the URL. Each part of the Internet has DNS servers. Most home computers are configured to query their ISP's name server or a free DNS name server.

An internet service provider (ISP) helps individuals and companies connect to the Internet. When you sign up with an ISP, you can expect to be given an email address, access to some storage space on the ISP's servers, and, in some cases, web hosting services to help manage any website you might choose to run. They allow their customers to select the type of service that best suits their needs. ISPs are vital in connecting to the internet. Without it, there would be no social media, online games, emails, and other things that people like to use the internet for nowadays.

PING is a basic internet program that allows a user to verify that a particular IP address. It allows people to access things that they need on the internet in an efficient time. A firewall is a software program or piece of hardware that helps screen out hackers, viruses, and worms that try to reach your computer over the Internet. Network firewalls are frequently used to prevent unauthorized Internet users from accessing private networks connected to the Internet. Without firewall it would be easier for hackers to get into someone's private network.
